Been going here now for a few years they really know their stuff and put your safety first If you want a patch up job then maybe go else where if you want to feel safe on your bike then this shop is first class. Popped in today to buy new mech hanger to fit myself but they insisted to fit and adjust gears and brakes to make sure all was well

I brought my eight-year-old Giant Halfway fold-up to Larkfield Cycles for repair, and after a few days of pondering while it remained in their shop, they gave me an estimate to repair the bike of much more than its value, and very close to the original purchase price. The quote was 408. I walked out feeling annoyed and deflated and started looking at the prices of new equivalent fold-ups, thinking I was going to scrap my bike. I did ask what minimal work could be done to get the bike back on the road. The engineer refused to say, comparing it to car repair. "If you came in for a new clutch and I discover your brakes are failing, should I let you leave the shop?" "Quite frankly, yes," was my thought. I would appreciate the advice about the urgency of brake repair, but not to be refused service because I don't have half a grand to spend. What I didn't know at the time is that their nearest competitor is in East Malling, so without much hope for my bike I took it there. I was given an estimate on the spot. It was delivered within a few days, in excellent condition, and for 97. So my advice is shop around. If you want a very serious bike repaired by very serious people for an incredibly high price, go to Larkfield Cycles. If you want a friendly neighbour who knows his stuff to treat you like a friend and get your bike back on the road for a reasonable price go to the Bike Site. You will not regret it.
